ABOUT Udyam Registration?
Udyam Registration (also referred to as MSME Registration) is the Government of India’s fully digital, paperless
system—introduced in July 2020 under the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises—to formally register
and recognize micro, small, and medium enterprises. Upon registration, businesses receive a unique 19-digit Udyam
Registration Number and an e-certificate with a dynamic QR code for easy verification and credibility The process is

As of 2024, over 4.77 crore MSME units are registered, and the platform has facilitated substantial credit access—
approximately ₹15.6 lakh crore in bank loans—boosting MSME lending significantly.
From April 1, 2025, the MSME classification thresholds have been revised upwards to reflect inflation, growth, and
evolving business needs.
